Automotive Technology
Today’s vehicles are highly sophisticated, using advanced technology that the average consumer cannot maintain. Customers expect qualified automotive technicians more than ever. In the Auto Technology program, students will prepare for a career in the service and maintenance of all types of automobiles and light trucks. Students will learn how to perform four-wheel alignments, steering and suspension service, brake service, engine drivability, electronic fuel injection, and will receive electrical and electronics training. Students will gain an understanding of the industry with hands-on work on both school and customer vehicles. This program offers ASE Certification to students.

- Pass your written assessment to recieve your recommended credit waiver at the Awards Ceremony.
- 3 credits – Recommended to be awarded in Automotive Trades or Automotive Technician. 1 to 2 additional credits may be awarded based on successful completion of the performance component with the written proficiency exam.

PROGRAM REQUIREMENTS
Strong math, reading, and writing skills are required.
UNIFORM REQUIREMENTS
A CareerTech blue or gray t-shirt is required. In addition, the following CareerTech items may also be purchased: Mechanic shirt, crew neck sweatshirt or hooded sweatshirt (no strings), or flannel. Uniforms may be ordered online or purchased at the school store.
Dark blue or black work pants/jeans without holes (i.e., Dickies).
Work boots (steel toe not required)

Andrew Parson
Mr. Parson has over 30 years of industry experience working with light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles and equipment. Throughout his career, he has held various positions including lead technician and supervisor. His experience in repairing, maintaining, and overseeing spans across many different types of vehicles and equipment in the transportation industry.
