Every business uses marketing for promotion. The Marketing program provides training in advertising, promotion, sales, entrepreneurship, and web design. Students will help operate and make important decisions about the student run school store. In addition, students will learn HTML, Dreamweaver, Photoshop, and WordPress to create and design their own web pages. Additional studies lead into introduction to visual merchandising, e-commerce, and small business management. Students are prepared to obtain entry-level jobs in marketing and other business-related fields as well as further their education at a post-secondary school.

A CareerTech blue or gray t-shirt is required. In addition, the following CareerTech items may also be purchased: Sweatshirt, zip fleece, flannel, hooded sweatshirt (no strings), or ¼ zip sweatshirt. Uniforms may be ordered online or purchased at the school store.

Students should enjoy working on a computer and learning different software. The ability to be a team player and communicate with customers is essential.

Ms. Mills received bachelor degrees in Marketing from Penn State University and Business Education from Shippensburg University. She also has a master’s degree in Education from Wilmington University. Her industry experience includes owning her own web design company. She contributes over 15 years of teaching at CareerTech.
