In the HVAC field, professionals typically install, maintain, and repair heating, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems. For the duration of this program, students will apply the principles of cooling and heating to duct work, controlling humidity, and the operation of electrical control systems. Students will work closely with the plumbing and electrical program on related studies. An educational partnership with local HVAC companies enhances the experience.

Program Requirements & Expectations:
Students should be able to read at grade level, read a ruler, and have good computer and math skills.
Uniform Requirements:
A blue or gray CareerTech t-shirt is required. In addition, the following CareerTech items may also be purchased: sweatshirt, hooded sweatshirt (no strings), or flannel (blue or gray). Uniforms may be ordered online or purchased at the school store.
Jeans or work pants without holes
Work boots (steel toe not required)

Mr. Boxler is a CareerTech alumnus of the HVAC program. He has over 35 years experience in the trade of HVAC, including teaching HVAC for the Adult Education program at CareerTech and Harrisburg Area Community College. Mr. Boxler has an NCCER and EPA 608 Refrigerant Safety Universal Certification and Proctor Certifications.
