Preschool Enrollment Form

Pre-School Enrollment

We are excited to welcome 3- and 4-year-old (toilet independent) children from our Franklin County community! The Little Apprentices preschool is overseen by a certified and experienced teacher. The lessons plans and activities, however, are written and led by our high school students, who have completed over 400 hours of bookwork and direct instruction in areas including, but not limited to child development, preparing a safe environment, selecting appropriate toys, supplies, and activities, planning lessons based on developmental needs, and health and safety. All lesson plans and activities are linked to Pennsylvania’s Early Learning Standards and are reviewed and approved by the Early Childhood Education Instructor in advance. All Little Apprentices “staff” (high school students and teacher) have their updated clearances, required by the Pennsylvania Department of Education/Department of Human Services.

While the high school staff have completed many hours of training, it is important to remember that they are still learning as well. High school students will greet families and create a bulletin board that provides resources to families, but they will not be discussing the growth and development of preschoolers. If you have any questions or concerns, please direct them to the Early Childhood Education Instructor (Mrs. Wilmot).

We use a check-in/check-out system called Procare. After applying for the preschool, if there are still open slots for you in our program, you will receive an email from Procare with directions about setting up an account.

You will be given a code to use for checking your child in. We will walk you through the process on your first day.

2025-2026 Pre-School

  • A tuition rate of $125 per child will be charged per semester. It is critical that your child’s fall semester tuition is paid prior to your child beginning our program, as the tuition is used for supplies and snacks. Our staff will be developing a spending plan based on our budget. We will send out a reminder in advance for the tuition for the spring semester. You will be provided with a receipt of payment that can be used for tax purposes. Please note that a $50 registration fee is required upon sign-up to hold your child’s place. This fee is nonrefundable, but as long as you attend the preschool, it will be credited toward the first semester’s tuition.

  • High school students will be preparing a calendar each month that will give families information about what the children are learning in preschool each week. We’ll also have important information about any closures/cancelations (such as Thanksgiving break and school-wide home-based days) on the calendars. They will also send home informational fliers from time-to-time with children as part of their assignments to encourage positive information sharing with families.

  • We will follow the  cancellation policy. If the school is closed or using “Work Based Learning/WBL,” or if the school is on a 2-hour delay, preschool will be canceled for the day. There are no make-up days for preschool. If the school district in which you live cancels due to weather, please do not bring your child. We care about the safety of your family above all, so if your school administration considers it unsafe to drive in your area, we follow that rule.

*If accepted, families will receive alerts from Procare that communicate any preschool closures.

  • Keeping in mind that our high school students are still in training to become future educators and childcare professionals, we must implement a behavior policy for preschoolers to ensure the safety of everyone. We appreciate and acknowledge that young children can naturally have emotional outbursts and challenging behavior, and we are happy to welcome all children. If a child’s behavior becomes a safety concern such as a risk for elopement (leaving the classroom without permission/a staff member) or a consistent risk for unsafe behavior toward him/herself or others such as biting, hitting, kicking, or other bodily harm, the family will be asked to discontinue the child’s enrollment without a refund.

  • We understand that unexpected things happen. Should you find that you need to discontinue your child’s enrollment in our program, please understand that we cannot issue a refund. The tuition is charged at the beginning of the enrollment period so that our staff can develop a budget and plan accordingly when purchasing supplies and snacks. We do, however, charge tuition on a semester-basis. Therefore, if you decide in the fall to discontinue enrollment for the spring semester, you will not be required to pay the second semester’s tuition.

*Please note that if there is a custody agreement in place, a copy of the order must be turned in to FCCTC staff so it can be kept on file.
