Reading & Literacy

New for this school year is a structured initiative providing support for students in Reading and Literacy. Specifi cally, a focused effort has been established to improve upon teaching strategies that would tie the Pennsylvania Academic Standards in Reading and Language Arts into our career and technical curriculum to provide relevance in the learning of academics in a technical context. The “Learning Focused Schools” model for school improvement is used as a basis for development of instructional strategies and an Academic Coach is employed to assist in the delivery of instruction. This program assists our participating school districts target improvements on the PSSA assessments.
