Diesel Mechanics

An instructional program focused on the repair and service of diesel engines and heavy equipment. Students study maintenance, repair and adjustment of diesel engines in both cars and trucks, heavy-duty transmissions, drive assemblies and other heavy truck systems.  Hands-on experience is provided working with operable diesel engines such as Cummins, Detroit, Deutz and Mack.  Additional studies are offered in heavy equipment technologies such as through Caterpillar.  Bio-diesel technologies will be explored in this program.

 Program Requirements and Expectations 

  • Students are required to wear blue uniform pants and blue T-shirt.  
  • Steel toed work boots are required.  
  • Students should purchase a good pair of safety glasses.  
  • Students need to come with a positive attitude and be ready to work.
