Allied Health
A cluster program designed to provide students instruction in a variety of health-related occupations under the supervision of a licensed health care professional. Instruction consists of core course content with clinical experiences in health related occupations. Certifications are available in nursing, medical and dental assisting. Students will also receive emergency medical training in the course of their studies. Opportunities could exist for students to enter directly into high paying entry-level positions locally or to articulate into local Practical Nursing (LPN) programs were applicable.

Program Requirements and Expectations

Scrubs are required to be worn on a daily basis starting after the first week of the semester.

Scrubs can be purchased at Super Shoe, Walmart, The Dollar Tree, Wogans Professional Uniforms, etc.

New students must purchase Level 1 kit for $70, due within the first week of the semester.

Level 2 students entering nurse aide training and continuing nurse aid must be aware that they can have no discipline issues or behaviors that affect the credibility and/or integrity of the program.

Level 2 students entering nurse aide training must also have a 75% or better grade average and an excellent attendance record.

Anticipated costs for Level 2 and/or nurse aide students are: $10 for Mantoux TB test; $10 for criminal background check; $102 for nurse aide examination (reimbursed by student’s employer after student is employed by long term care facility for a given amount of time); $25 for field trip to the Holocaust Museum in Washington, DC.
